About The Firm
I run a small firm that provides a big service to my clients. I am here to help my clients through the maze of technical legal accounting and taxation requirements whilst not losing sight of the need for their business to succeed. My ethos is to offer a comprehensive service tailored to each client’s needs – no two clients are the same; I am realistic and understand the needs and concerns of small and medium businesses; I am always approachable, there when you need me to be, no matter how trivial the problem may appear to be, I will listen and advise; and finally I am a professional. Of course there are other accountants who offer similar services, but I aim to go the extra mile to set us above the rest and be a real partner to my clients.
After graduating in Law at the University of Leicester, I decided to make my profession as a Chartered Accountant, being admitted to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales in 1980 after training with a Leicester firm and then continuing in practice with Peat Marwick, Mitchell & Co post qualification. I have since spent much of my professional life in commerce in a number of senior management positions as Finance Director in and consultant to FTSE 250 companies in the manufacturing and process industries. I have a particularly strong track record in financial systems development, internal control and in working capital management.
This practice serves its clients on a practical and business driven basis, backed by 30 years of business management experience. I believe that small businesses are the life blood of this country and work to support them, with a personal and dedicated service.
Since 1987 I have also run my own accountancy practice looking after a number of sole traders, partnerships and owner managed companies, bringing his experience and expertise in the commercial world alongside technical accounting, financial control and taxation skills. This has become a full time career since January 2007.
